remakes of old movies

I just heard that the new Stepford Wives coming out this weekend is going to be a lot different than the original from the 1970s. I remember the original one as being somewhat of a thriller and having a chilling ending. I hear this one has been made into a comedy and that the ending will be different. I guess I will go see it just to see exactly how different it is. What do you all think of movie remakes?

I think it depends on the movie. The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn't as good as the original, but the remake of the Out-of-Towners and how Rat Race was kind of an inspiration from It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World were great!
